The retrofitting of existing systems, especially the replacement of fans, has an huge energy saving potential. At the same time, today's fan technology can sustainably improve plant availability, maintenance and the building climate.

By replacing old, inefficient fans with modern, energy-efficient EC fans, up to 50% of energy and CO2 can be saved, depending on the building and system. Of course, this is also reflected in lower operating and energy costs - at relatively low investment costs: While the share of a fan in the investment costs of an HVAC system is a maximum of 3%, its share in the operating costs is up to 70%.

Numerous retrofit examples from various types of non-residential buildings - from hotels to airports - show that the payback period for a fan replacement is on average only between two and five years, depending on the system and building.

Market Sectors for Retrofit

For which market sectors is a fan replacement best suitable? In the branches listed here, larger HVAC systems with long operating times are usually used. The savings potential is therefore enormous. Furthermore, in sensitive applications, the risk of failure of the ventilation unit can be nearly eliminated by the redundancy of the ECFanGrid.

What is an ECFanGrid?

An ECFanGrid consists of several EC fans operated in parallel in a kind of fan wall. The volume flow is multiplied proportionally to the number of fans, while the pressure conditions remain constant. The EC fans used are not only highly efficient, but as a perfectly matched unit (electronics, motor & impeller) they also enable simple plug & play solutions for almost any ventilation requirement.

In addition, several controllable fans can be adapted much better to the actual air performance required, which increases efficiency at every operating point.

The ECFanGrid Retrofit System is particularly suitable for replacing old, inefficient belt-driven fans in ventilation units. It does not matter which brand is in use. The Retrofit System is flexible and always suitable!

All components, from the fans to the switch cabinet and the adaptive sheet metal parts, come from our own production and are part of every ECFanGrid Retrofit System from Rosenberg.

Practicality is the most important thing for you. The system must be manageable. Therefore all our components can be carried by two persons. You can use existing stairs and lifts for the installation. You will receive all necessary material in a complete kit.
Maintenance, replacement and reliability are particularly important to you. Our fans are lubricated for life and directly driven (no more need to change belts). They can be delivered within a very short time and can be replaced in a few minutes. We provide the building control system (GLT) with all necessary signals.
